Doctor Brown has managed to maintain and sustain the image of a traditional English pub even though it's located in the heart of Middlesbrough. To the modern eye the pub looks quite outdated and old fashioned but that seems to be to the appeal of the drinkers. It is very near the riverside so it is ideal for a few drinks on a Saturday if you are off the watch the Boro play. Quite often on a Saturday it seems to be packed full of Boro fans, probably due to the large TV so everyone can watch the game, this is possibly its busiest day. On a Friday night Doctor Browns quite often get live acts to play though the pub itself is not overly large. They offer a wide variety of drinks, unfortunately I have never eaten here before so I am unable to comment on the food, if you are in the area you should drop in and have a look.
